About the Role
The IT & Security Lead owns accentedge’s corporate IT, endpoint, and physical/logical security posture across a hybrid lab-plus-office facility, supporting HIPAA, SOC 2 Type II, HITRUST, and a FedRAMP Moderate path.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate corporate IT: network backbone, Wi-Fi 6E, VLAN segmentation, and 802.1X NAC.
- Manage the MDF/IDF closets, environmental monitoring, UPS/standby power, and access-control systems.
- Own endpoint security, identity, and the corporate device fleet.
- Steward physical security zones, CCTV retention, visitor management, and intrusion detection.
- Support SOC 2, HIPAA, HITRUST, and FedRAMP evidence and audits.
- Steward the segregated instrument VLAN for lab equipment with IT.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in IT and/or security administration, including network and endpoint management.
- Hands-on experience with VLAN segmentation, firewalls, and identity (802.1X, SSO).
- Knowledge of HIPAA and at least one of SOC 2, HITRUST, or FedRAMP.
- Experience with access control, CCTV, and environmental monitoring.
Preferred Qualifications
- Security certifications (CISSP, Security+, or similar).
- Experience in regulated healthcare or federal environments.
- Familiarity with lab instrument networking and clean-agent/fire-suppression-protected closets.
A Day in the Role
Chicago-based, primarily on-site role with hybrid flexibility; works across the admin zone, MDF/IDF closets, and lab IDF, partnering with DevOps and Regulatory.
