About the Role

The Applied Scientist advances the science behind ABCD’s integrated multiomics engine — combining radiomics, genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, proteomics, and glycomics — and turns research advances into validated, clinically meaningful capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and prototype methods for multiomics integration and tumor classification.
• Design experiments, evaluation protocols, and clinical evidence packages.
• Translate findings into clinically meaningful reports for doctari surfaces and partner deliverables.
• Collaborate with the CSO/CMO and clinical affairs on validation strategy.
• Publish and present scientific work where appropriate.

Required Qualifications

• PhD in ML, computational biology, biostatistics, or related field (or MS with strong research record).
• Demonstrated research output in applied ML or computational biology.
• Strong statistical and experimental-design skills.
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

• Domain experience in oncology or molecular diagnostics.
• Experience generating evidence for regulatory or payer use.
• Publication record in relevant venues.

A Day in the Role

Chicago-based hybrid role in the AI Development zone, working between war rooms, the MLOps/eval room, and the lab write-up corner to keep science and modeling tightly coupled.
